The second reason is the most important one. In life, just like trees, we encounter storms that give rise to twisting, scarring and deprivation of nurture, yet given time and more favourable circumstances we come right again. Similar to trees, our return to a state of elegance and grace takes time. We don’t expect the natural world to be suddenly in a perfect state after a shock to its system or a period of disarray. Similarly with ourselves it takes time to heal and grow.

During my exhibition of The Sacred Lives of Trees I gave my viewers the opportunity to express how they felt about trees. I heard people speaking for the first time about their own personal love of trees, the healing effects of their walks in woods and expressions of gratitude and joy.

My message about the wellbeing benefits of trees is traveling far and wide. People who follow my work on-line often send me articles they find with regards to trees. Some people send me photos of their favourite trees and one person even invited me to be included in a private video to be shared amongst their friends, featuring a photo of each one hugging a tree. When a photo of my favourite beech tree was featured on national TV weather report a friend told me afterwards that her husband told her that I was on the telly. I wasn’t’ in the photo but interestingly he knew it was my Treedom tree.
I’m not the first to start this conversation about trees and I won’t be the last, I’m simply helping people to raise the volume on their thoughts so that these conversations about trees will gather momentum for the benefit of more people on our planet.
I’ve been creating a set of smaller tree paintings (in acrylic) on board 20 x 25cm to give more choice to lovers of trees and my art work.
You can view the full range of paintings and prints from The Sacred Lives of Trees in my online gallery. I'm here to help you with your selection, let me know if you need some assistance.
Through my art and writing I share stories and inspiration for transformation, healing and dreams turning to reality. When you visit my gallery you glimpse my journey, my authentic path. It took a ‘Break True’ moment to point me towards developing my artistic talents. It’s never too late to make a new start. I’ve achieved a lot in a relatively short time. My work has been presented in New York as part of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, has been displayed on county Post Office and has been show-cased on National TV. Read more about my art journey here.

My Indian Heart Way collection was birthed into reality after a profound life changing trip through the north of India, crossing the country by river-boat, train, public bus, auto-taxi, camel and jeep. These are treasured memories you behold. The original paintings in this collection have since been purchased except for one. I had retained Golden […]
‘Who are in the men in tree?’ I was asked this question by two of my friends at the end of a busy exhibition opening night at Carlow Library. I was puzzled. They brought me over to the painting to which they were referring, it was ‘Treedom Series 3'! The beech tree that anchors the […]
