Inspired by the powerful essence of an elderly beech tree residing in the garden of my parental home, graced by the backdrop of a majestic mountain, all gave rise to the birth of ‘Treedom’.
Before I even got the idea to paint my collection of ‘The Sacred Lives of Tree’s’, at least two years previously I had painted and christened my first ‘Treedom’, a painting in pastel. I posted it on social media that night and by 7am the next morning (New Year’s Eve) it was sold and being prepared for delivery to its new home in London.
"Within its sturdy structures I could see the shape of a warrior with his chest to the east, giving protection to his divine female counterpart, as she danced their dream of love."
I searched on line and could find no other reference to the word ‘Treedom’ at that time and that intrigued me even more. I carried on with my work as a reflexology therapist (and my studies) but within a few years the call of trees was so strong I could no longer ignore them. Regardless of my limited financial resources at that time and time being so precious, I took a leap of faith and started creating the collection of paintings ‘The Sacred Lives of Trees’.
My inspirational beech tree captured the sun between its bare branches in the winter. Within its sturdy structures I could see the shape of a warrior with his chest to the east, giving protection to his divine female counterpart, as she danced their dream of love. Such presence I felt exuding from this tree no wonder it gave rise to such imagination of having kingdoms of its own, calling for freedom from mental taxations of daily tasks and routines.

It took a ‘Break True’ moment to point me towards developing my artistic talents. It’s never too late to make a new start. I’ve achieved a lot in a relatively short time. My work has been presented in New York as part of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, has been displayed on county Post Office and has been show-cased on National TV. Read more about my art journey here.

I have noticed that some of my art pieces instantly resonate with an art buyer, whilst other choices are made after moments of consideration. I love when both of these situations happen as it takes confidence to make these choices independently of the opinions of others. It can be useful however to have some guidelines […]
