As soon as I published my first book, The Whisperings of Nature, it was snapped up by the talented Maria Lehtman in Finland. Maria had spotted my book news on Twitter. We had not been connected before that moment which lead to the beginning of our collaboration.
I didn’t know it at the time but Maria was recovering from a sudden and debilitating illness which had caused a lot of upheaval in her life. As time went by Maria recovered sufficiently to begin her work on a book project of her own.
The 'Dreaming Doors' is a collection of Maria’s poems (mostly in English) combined with her photography to create a thought-provoking reflection on the theme of doorways and dreams.
Maria contacted me to invite me to collaborate with her on this project. Doorways are also a fascination of mine. My 'Indian Heart Way' art collection features two interesting doorways which I encountered on my travels in India.
I wrote two poems for Maria’s book and submitted two of my painting images for inclusion.
"It’s a clear sign that it pays to be authentic, doing so allows you to connect people who share your passion with the possibilities of working towards common goals."
Caroline Cunningham, Artist
Like myself, Maria is also passionate about promoting Nature as a source of inspiration and well-being. It’s a clear sign that it pays to be authentic, doing so allows you to connect people who share your passion with the possibilities of working towards common goals.
It has been a pleasure to collaborate with Maria through the digital realm. Maria is the owner of my painting The In Between. Along with being a leader in digital marketing in the telecoms sector she is also multi-talented in any art forms herself.
Find out more about Maria and the Dreaming Doors in our interview below. Her book The Dreaming Doors is a lovely keep-sake or a gift for those of you who love travel and the stories they inspire.
Through my art and writing I share stories and inspiration for transformation, healing and dreams turning to reality. When you visit my gallery you glimpse my journey, my authentic path. It took a ‘Break True’ moment to point me towards developing my artistic talents. It’s never too late to make a new start. I’ve achieved a lot in a relatively short time. My work has been presented in New York as part of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, has been displayed on county Post Office and has been show-cased on National TV. Read more about my art journey here.
"This was the moment when I knew I would make tree paintings."
When a tree taps you on the shoulder to request a favour, would you pretend not to hear or would you take action? That was the dilemma that tormented me for months before I took the leap of faith to create The Sacred Lives of Trees. Their request was this, to provide the opportunity and […]
